Acoustics in Videoconference Facilities

Instead of sending their employees on one business trip after another, companies can save time and money by investing in professionally equipped videoconference facilities. Besides, modern conference systems enable different company sites to communicate with each other. Yet the transmission quality of not only video but especially audio must be flawless if employees are to enjoy and efficiently utilise such conference systems. Speech intelligibility is affected by the room acoustics in a conference facility, the selection and positioning of microphones, and any background noise (e.g. ventilation or air conditioning).

IRT proposes solutions for enhancing the quality of voice transmission and implements these solutions in cooperation with planning companies. With the aid of test methods, our specialists can monitor voice quality along the entire signal-transmission path, and consequently optimise the audio settings for complex conference systems.
