IT and Network Security
The networking trend in broadcasting (IT-based TV production, transfer of video files, new input/distribution networks, etc.) raises important questions about the security of the systems involved. Security specialists place an emphasis not only on protecting transferred content from modification or theft, but also on defence against planned or unwanted attacks (viruses, network manipulation, etc.) on the network and network components.
Our staff identifies and documents security risks in broadcast networks, and generates potential solutions. First, the transfer of video files is examined and a threat matrix is compiled. Our experts then analyse the security of input and distribution networks (access security and equipment security) as well as the impact of security mechanisms on performance (e.g. reduced transfer rate caused by the use of firewalls).
In addition, IRT offers training courses on IT/network security.
