File Transfers: Advising and Testing

IRT provides specialised guidance during the implementation of high-speed file-transfer solutions. This includes, above all, the transfer of video files in wide-area networks. It deserves mention, though, that our specialists are optimising the TCP/IP parameter which increases the transfer rate in large WANs (long delays…).

The use of a file-transfer system for video in TV production makes it possible to interchange content very efficiently. This efficiency depends, however, on the selection and implementation of an appropriate file format and interchange format for metadata as well as their integration into IT-based production platforms. Process-oriented integration is a must if operational interchange is to be efficient.

IRT helps broadcasting operators to select interchange formats and integration concepts in consideration of relevant security requirements. Moreover, our experts not only check whether existing interchange formats conform to standards, but also conduct on-site testing of video file-transfer systems for customers.
