DVB Playout

IRT developed a software-based DVB-Playout-Server to facilitate the preparation and multiplexing of various data transport streams.

The DVB-Playout-Server can be used as a test system for DVB applications (HDTV, MHP, IPTV, etc.) as well as in DVB-Playout equipment and head stations. The server supports the simultaneous play-out of content as a DVB MPEG-2 transport stream, as binary-coded files with one or more private sections, and in the DSMCC Object Carousel. The source data can be dynamically complemented or replaced during operations. All standard DVB formats are supported, .e.g. DVB-S, DVB-T, and DVB-C. In the case of IPTV, the transport streams can also be transmitted via UDP and RTP. In addition, MHP services can be inserted and synchronised.
