IRT strives to support not only European broadcast technology but also broadcasting in Europe on the whole. As an alliance of 14 public-broadcasting organisations, we at IRT are at the forefront of modern media and know exactly in which sectors technical innovations are needed. It is no coincidence, then, that IRT has been helping advance broadcast technology for over 50 years with trailblazing innovations such as the blue-screen process, teletext and slow-motion technology.

Assisting Public-Broadcasting Organisations

Technological advances alter the media landscape time and again, but thanks to us, public broadcasters are always up to date. IRT enhances existing system solutions for the production and dissemination of broadcasting services. We also develop and assess new technologies before overseeing their implementation. And IRT staff are experts on broadcasting technology and its potential in part because they actively participate in various international committees such as EBU/UER, ITU, DVB, WorldDMB etc.
