MXF
IRT is a leading company in the fields of new MXF-based technologies and services.
The MXF Test Center enables the realization of end-to-end tests of MXF files, MXF encoders and MXF decoders for users, system integrators, and manufacturers.
The MXF Analyzer Professional serves the MXF file analysis with regard to standards compliance (SMPTE) and conformity with specific application parameters such as operational patterns, essence container constraints or payload formats.
In cooperation with MOG Solutions the IRT has developed the first complete and commercially available MXF Software Development Kit (SDK), which serves as the foundation for the generation, adaption, and integration of MXF content.
Workflow management and quality assurance

BMF – Broadcast Metadata Exchange Format
IRT assists you with consulting around BMF, which forms the foundation for a uniform metadata exchange in professional television production and thus enables an easier integration of IT systems.
Audio production
IRT has developed a new 5.1 to 2.0 Audio Downmix Algorithm. With its help, influences that usually reduce the acoustic quality of the downmix can be largely prevented or effectively compensated.
The Acoustic Summing Algorithm is an innovative algorithm system enabling digital mixing of multi-microphone recordings without sound distortion. Usual comb filter effects are thus reduced.
The Binaural Room Synthesis BRS headphones reproduction system enables the virtual representation of measured or modeled loudspeaker reproduction situations with perfect accuracy; audio experience of a 5.1 speaker setup in original rooms can be nearly reproduced.
For determining the quality of audio codecs IRT offers measurements based on internationally standardized testing methods.
The use of the Microphone Tracking System developed in the IRT enables a new recording technique for the improved audio reproduction at field sports and other sport events through a tracking system for directional microphones.
