09/02/2009 — IBC 2009: CONTENTUS: Insight into the next generation digital archive

At this year’s IBC, the research project CONTENTUS will present its first results at the EBUVillage in Hall 10, Booth 10.D21 in Amsterdam from September 10th to 15th. In the framework of CONTENTUS new technologies and concepts for multimedia-based knowledge platforms, e.g. media archives and libraries are developed. The main objective of the project is the elaboration of different media types like, text, pictures, video and audio in a digital form such that these can be made accessible generally. These digitized media are semantically connected to form a novel knowledge network according to their context. The goal of CONTENTUS is to facilitate better, easier knowledge-based searches that are in line with the interests and requirement of the users. This IT project is funded by the German government. It is part of the project THESEUS, which is developing semantic technologies for the Internet of the future. more
