10/26/2007 — IRT now presiding ITU-R Study Group for Broadcasting Services

The ITU Radiocommunication Assembly (RA-07) met in Geneva from 15 to 19 October 2007. Unanimously, Christoph Dosch, IRT General Manager Collaborative Research, was elected as new Chairman of Study Group 6 (Broadcasting Service).

Therefore an IRT representant presides an important international committee. Study Group 6 (Broadcasting Service) deals with all technical issues of the broadcasting service: from signal generation and content management to transmission and reception. The mandate includes technical use of spectrum (e.g. frequency planning) as well as issues related to interactivity and the convergence of services (for mobile, portable and stationary use).
