07/01/2009 — QUALCOMM and IRT are publishing DVB-T and FLO coexistence Study
Television services based on DVB-T are already common in many parts of Europe, with more expected as countries move towards analog switch-off. In parallel, new technologies and services are being considered for deployment in the UHF bands as part of the digital dividend. Mobile TV is one of the new services attracting widespread interest, with trials or deployments of various technologies in DVB-T markets around the world. Whatever the mobile TV technology, it is important that these new services do not adversely affect current or planned DVB-T services. QUALCOMM and IRT have evaluated the spectrum compliance of the MediaFLO system to the European DVB-T regulations.
