In the last years, the Internet Media Subtitle and Caption profile (IMSC) has been established as a renowned technology to produce, contribute, and distribute subtitles and captions in broadcast and streaming scenarios. It is used and referenced amongst others by DVB, MPEG, ATSC, and EBU technologies.
Open Source projects like the IMSC renderer imscJS and the subtitle editor imscEd demonstrate transparently how IMSC can be implemented into operation.
The online event spots light on the strategies of these projects, looks behind the scenes and shows the wide spectrum of IMSC usage. As an introduction, the current specification editor of IMSC, Pierre-Anthony Lemieux, will give an update of the IMSC standard.
Speaker: Pierre-Anthony Lemieux (Sandflow), Michael Seiferle (BaseX), Andreas Tai (IRT)
