IRT develops proof of concept for HbbTV cloud couponing of NEOTION Blue Bridge platform

IRT - Institut für Runkfunktechnik GmbH - and NEOTION - a French leading high-tech company providing innovative solutions for the global digital television market have agreed on a partnership to develop a proof of concept of a Cloud Couponing platform based on the HbbTV standard.

Last September, NEOTION has launched its new "NEOTION Blue Bridge" offer which allows TVs and CI Plus CAM to synchronize and exchange information with Smartphones or Tablets via a specific secure Bluetooth connection. Based on CI Plus CAMs and USB Sticks for STB, this offer is primarily targeting Pay TV operators who can develop multitude services combining TV and the Mobiles usages. Couponing TV Apps – one of the most attractive targeted services - will be adapted to an HbbTV standard based cloud version, not requiring any specific receivers, especially directed towards commercial free to air TV Channels and Operators.

IRT with its great expertise in HbbTV applications and NEOTION will combine their skills to develop a Cloud Couponing platform for HbbTV to edit coupons, associate them with TV advertising clips, to be acquired by viewers thanks to the remote control of the TV. TV channels will easily value the TV Advertisement second by adding Digital coupon. It is also a good answer to push people to be more engaged in front of the TV screen to acquire discount. At least, user will download their Coupons from the Cloud on their Mobile, Tablet or Computer to use them in real or virtual shops. Couponing will generate new advertising services and revenue opportunities for Broadcasters, Operators and Service Providers: a bridge between the Digital world and the real live.

NEOTION will show its Blue Bridge solution at the MEDIENTAGE München at booth L4, from 24th to 26th October 2012 at the International Congress Centre Munich (ICM) next to the Messe München exhibition grounds.
